PROJECT M MOTORS WARRANTY

Warranty Coverage

Applicability: This standard warranty applies to all used parts and engines sold by Project M Motors LLC, with the exception of airbags, seat belt assemblies, body panels, and tires. Used parts are covered for thirty (30) days from the date of purchase with the exception of electrical parts. Remanufactured engines are covered for twelve (12) months, unless specified otherwise on the sales invoice.

Exclusions

The following are not covered under this warranty:

Accessories included only for installation convenience.

Parts not matching the make, model, or year of the vehicle as required.

Airbags, tires, body panels, and seat belts, which are sold "as is" and are non-returnable.

Labor costs associated with the installation of parts.

Compatibility with vehicles other than those specified; it is the buyer's responsibility to ensure fitment.

Specific Part Coverage

Engine Assemblies: Coverage is limited to manufacturing defects in specified components listed below.

Transmission Assemblies: Limited to internal components.

Axle Assemblies: Cover specified parts, excluding damage during installation.

Limited Warranty for New Aftermarket Auto Parts

Project M Motors LLC is not liable for damages resulting from misuse, incorrect installation, modification, accidents, neglect, or normal wear and tear. Labor charges, inconveniences, and related expenses are not covered under this warranty.

Warranty Process

Vehicles must be diagnosed at a licensed repair facility.

Contact Project M Motors LLC at projectmmotorsllc@gmail.com before the warranty period expires, providing the order number and issue details.

We may request photos or the vehicle identification number (VIN) for review.

Options for addressing the issue include replacement, repair, or refund, at our discretion, with inspection rights reserved.

Warranty Limitations

COVERED ENGINE COMPONENTS INCLUDE

The following internally lubricated parts of the engine are covered, including pistons, piston rings, piston pins, crankshaft, main bearings, main bearing caps, connecting rods, rod bearings, oil pump pickup, oil pump intermediate shaft, camshaft, camshaft bearings, hydraulic lifters, pushrods, intake and exhaust valves, valve springs, rocker arms, valve lash adjusters. The Engine Block and Cylinder Heads are also covered if the above-listed parts caused a mechanical failure unless a condition listed under Exclusions or Limitations caused the initial failure or subsequent damage to the vehicle. See “Warranty Exclusions" and  “Warranty Limitations” for specific terms and conditions.

Engine core acceptance parameters

Must be complete core (factory engine, from oil pan to valve cover)

  • Block must have no:

    • Holes or cracks in casting

    • Holes or crack in covers

    • Bore damage that cannot be honed out

    • Thrust surface damage

    • Journal surfaces damage

    • Bolt hole damage that can’t be repaired

  • Heads must have no:

    • Holes or cracks in casting

    • Holes or crack in covers

    • Thrust surface damage

    • Journal surfaces damage

    • Bolt hole damage that can’t be repaired

  • Additional repair charges could apply for damaged items that are not normally changed during an overhaul and cannot be repaired or serviced

    • Valves

    • Crankshafts

    • Camshafts

    • Guides

    • ValveTronic mechanism

    • Vanos mechanism

Warranty Limitations

Project M Motors LLC's liability is limited to the purchase price of the goods. Warranty is void if the vehicle is used for commercial purposes, racing/off-road activities, or if it undergoes abuse, misuse, modifications, or is involved in a collision.

Warranty does not cover and will be void if after market components are used on or around the engine after installation including after market software on the engine computer.   

For warranty to be valid, oil cooler (if applicable on vehicle) and fuel injectors must be replaced with new OEM part. Not doing so will automatically void warranty. Project M Motors reserves the right to ask for proof and receipts of the oil cooler and fuel injectors. 

Applicable only within the United States.

Void if the heat tab center is melted or removed.

"As is" sales are indicated on the invoice.

Project M Motors LLC is not responsible for injury or damage occurring during the installation process. Freight costs are not covered by this warranty. Remanufactured Engine Warranty: Covered Components

The warranty covers internally lubricated parts of the engine, including pistons, crankshaft, camshaft, valves, and more, as well as the engine block and cylinder heads if failure is caused by a defect in a covered component. Exclusions apply for wear and tear, external parts, and damage from neglect, abuse, lack of maintenance, or improper installation.

Project M Motors LLC's warranty offers a parts warranty and does not cover any labor cost associated with a warranty claim. 

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover:

Wear and tear or external engine parts.

Use of parts for purposes other than their intended use.

Failures due to improper installation or failure to follow break-in procedures.

Damage from neglect, over- revving, overheating, abuse, lack of maintenance, pre-ignition, accident, abnormal or continued operation of an impaired vehicle or improper installation, the vehicle owner then assumes the liability. Operation of the engine with fuels, oils, or lubricants that are contaminated or not suitable for the engine, running with improper oil or coolant level,  including a breakdown caused by the failure to replace seals or gaskets promptly, is not covered. Engines driven to destruction will not be covered. Any parts used for other than their intended purpose are not covered.

Break-In Procedure:

A specific procedure is provided for the break-in of remanufactured engines, including initial startup, oil changes, and driving recommendations to ensure proper engine performance and longevity.

Administrator Rights

Project M Motors LLC reserves the right to void the warranty in cases of fraud, misrepresentation, or if the vehicle or parts are used for unintended purposes such as racing or commercial use. 
ALL ENGINE SALES REQUIRE A CORE ENGINE RETURN, WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED WITHIN THE ENGINE SALE PRICE.

What is a Refundable Core Deposit?

A refundable core deposit is a temporary fee for our remanufactured engines. We use factory core engines for your build and require your original engine in return. You can pay the deposit upfront and get a full refund when you return your old engine within 60 days of receiving your engine, or you can send in your engine first to be built to avoid the deposit entirely.
